Nolan and Nsiala join Ipswich

Jon Nolan and Aristote Nsiala complete their deal to join Ipswich Town for an undisclosed fee

Shrewsbury Town can confirm that Toto Nsiala and Jon Nolan have departed the Club to join former Town manager Paul Hurst at Ipswich Town.

The pair have left the Club for an undisclosed fee after Ipswich met Town’s valuation on the players.

Nsiala and Nolan were key figures in Hurst’s campaign last season and leave the Club after a collective 134 appearances in Blue and Amber.

John Askey gave his thoughts on the matter to Shrewsweb. He said: “I’m disappointed really. It is a shame that they had to go but we didn’t have any choice.

“When you have got two players who want to go elsewhere then as long as the money is right there isn’t a lot we can do.

“I would have liked to have them in the team, they’re good players at this level and you don’t want to lose your best players.

“Even though they weren’t max out  (In pre-season) you could still see their quality that both of them have got and you don’t want to lose that but as football is now, there isn’t a lot you can do.”

John is disappointed he didn’t have opportunity to work with the pair but feels the right thing was done for the Club.

“I have sympathy with them because going into the Championship football can change their lives,” said John.

“You still have to do things right and from that point of view and maybe they could have done but it’s difficult when something is playing on your mind.

“I think it’s a good deal for the Club and the main thing is to replace them. That’s what we are trying to do and it is difficult.

“Its going to be tough but I’m sure we can do it.”

Shrewsbury Town would like to thank the pair for their hard work and dedication while at the club and wish them well for the future.
