Academy Manager Eric Ramsay is pleased with his sides start to the 2018/19 season
Shrewsbury’s Academy side have had a fantastic start to the season. They remain unbeaten in the league, winning all three of their first fixtures against Carlisle, Port Vale and Tranmere Rovers.
Academy Manager Eric Ramsay is remaining level headed despite his sides impressive start.
“To be where we are we’re relatively pleased but more to come hopefully”
Ramsay is focussing on players from all areas of the having an influence on the goals.
“We’ve got full backs that join in late, they’ve got really good quality in the final third, so I think across the board we’ve got players that can contribute which is really pleasing.”
“Our battle everyday as a coach is to look at where an individual is and look at where they need to be to get in the first team and try and bridge that gap.”
Ramsay is expecting more of the same from his side in the next few weeks.
“I want the group to continue as they have been, in terms of levels in parts of games, but I want to see that level throughout games and across months of the seasons instead of just seeing good performances in flashes.”
“Consistency is important, I want to see individuals that are excelling in this team and hopefully catching the managers eye.”
