Mat Sadler On 200

Mat Sadler reflects on career milestones at the Peterborough game

Mat Sadler celebrated making 200 senior appearances for Town on the weekend.

Mat reached 200 appearances in a Blue and Amber with the draw against Peterborough, which also marked 500 senior career appearances.

The defender was delighted to have reached the milestone and gave his thoughts after the tie.

“I am chuffed to bits with it,” said Mat. “I would have liked it to have come on a win of course.

“All my family are here and I am really chuffed to have got that milestone of 200 games.

“I said after 100 I would be desperate to get to 200 as quickly as I can and I have got here reasonably quickly.

“Now I am looking at 300 – there is always the next milestone. I want to get to 250 and then 300.”

The game also marked Mat’s 500th appearance in the game and the defender was delighted to have reached the number.

“I am chuffed to get to 500 – it’s a nice marker and a nice milestone. Now you set the next target of 600.

“People don’t seem to stick around at clubs these days do they. I am grateful that you have had me for 200 games, through the ups and the downs.

“I am pleased that it is 200, but like I say, I would have been chuffed to bits if we had saw that game out.

“Personally, it was nice to have my family there, my children there, my wife and everyone there – it was nice.”
