Shrewsbury Town in the Community and Healthy Lives launch Together Stronger
Friday 30th November saw the launch of Together Stronger, a partnership between Shrewsbury Town in the Community and Healthy Lives. It will be a vehicle for local organisations to work more closely with professional sports clubs and like-minded community groups in the challenge to improve health.
The all-age, all-sport, all-inclusive programme is aimed at improving the health and well-being of people in Shropshire irrespective of age, race, gender or ability through increased physical activity and targeted health messages.
Along with presentations from Head of Community Jamie Edwards, and councillor Jane Mackenzie, Shrews first team star, Omar Beckles also spoke about why the initiative is close to his own heart and how he aims to help improve health and well-being across Shropshire by working closely with a range of organisations.
The presentation concluded with a video highlighting some of the current stats and issues across Shropshire which the programme aims to tackle.
