Abu Ogogo post Plymouth Argyle

Abs thoughts after the defeat at home to Plymouth

Shrewsbury Town’s captain Abu Ogogo feels Plymouth Argyle just had the edge on his Town’s side and is disappointed with the result: “ It’s a tough one to take, they deserve the win.

“I thought they were better and sharper all over the pitch. Its not many times this season we have come of the pitch and said the other team were better than us.

“They came and did a job, like I said they were the better team and deserved to win. It’s not like us after going one nil up.”

The Shrews captain has stated the teams desire to bounce back against Fleetwood Town on Tuesday night: ”Today we have to take it on the chin and move on to Tuesday.

“I cant really put a finger on what went wrong today, they were just brighter and sharper all over the pitch but luckily we have another game in a few days.”

Ogogo is also disappointed at how Town dealt with the goals conceded: ”Disappointing, another set piece and a scrappy goal.

“Both goals were poor to be fair, both disappointing goals to concede, so we need to get back to keeping clean sheets.”

Towards the back end of the game Town were pushing for an equaliser but it proved to be fruitless: “We were pushing but its hard, they had sat everyone behind the ball.

“Then they did get the ball they would bang it into the corner. When they’re winning free kicks, throwing’s and corners, it’s frustrating.

“Lenell came on and had a shot at the end, straight down the keeper’s throat but on another day that might go in. We were huffing and puffing but we couldn’t get that second goal.

“Today was a big opportunity if we could hold on to get the win and then go top of the league.

“Unfortunately it wasn’t to be but thankfully Wigan drew and Blackburn lost so were still in the same position.

“Tuesday we need to make sure we go and get the win.”

The Shrews will hope to bounce back when they face Fleetwood Town on Tuesday night at Highbury Stadium.
