This months #Shrews4All feature focuses on one of the stars of Summer 2017’s National Citizen Service programme at Shrewsbury Town in the Community, Reuben Dunne. Reuben started his NCS journey as a very nervous participant despite the introductions and warm up sessions provided in the build up to the programme.
Reuben’s journey has seen him develop into a much more confident and independent person, who feels like a major part of his community and displays what social cohesion is all about.
“He is a massive credit and an example of what NCS is all about. He’s a massive part of his community and displays what social cohesion is all about. Reuben is his own character, who displays all the values that Shrewsbury Town in the Community are all about, he’s so proactive and passionate about everything he does” – Jade Hibbert, Education and Inclusion Manager
“He came out of the programme so much more confident and independent, he now feels part of his community. That’s the thing that we’ve taken out of the NCS programme, how the community took him to their hearts and made him part of everything, that’s how it should be.” – Christine Dunne, Reuben’s Mum
