Eisa joins Town

Abo Eisa joins on a permanent deal from Wealdstone

Shrewsbury Town are delighted to announce the signing of Abo Eisa from Wealdstone FC.

Eisa, who usually plays as a left-winger, joins on an 18-month deal with the option of a further year having signed for an undisclosed fee.

Abo has enjoyed a highly successful first-half of the season for Wealdstone, scoring 12 goals in the National League South.

He joins his brother in the EFL after Mohamed Eisa signed for Cheltenham Town this summer, scoring 12 goals in Sky Bet League Two so far this season.

Abo is excited to be joining Shrewsbury Town and admits that it’s a dream come true.

“I’m very delighted to be here”, Eisa told ShrewsWeb

“It’s a huge club and it looks like they are very ambitious. From playing in the Conference South last Saturday to now being here is a really huge move for me.

“I’ve been working for this moment for a very long time. I’ve always wanted to be a pro footballer and I try every single day, so I’m delighted that it’s finally come to fruition.”

Eisa has caught the eye with a series of excellent strikes this season and he likes to see himself as a flair player.

“I’m a winger, I’ve got a lot of flair and I like to take people on”, Abo continued.

“I can score goals and assist too, so hopefully I will try and do my best to contribute for Shrewsbury. I’ve always liked to get goals and I’m hungry to score goals.

“Sometimes it just happens and you take someone on and then another one and then the whole place opens up and you think, why not shoot?”

This will be Abo’s first move into the EFL, but he is hopeful that he will be able to contribute this season.

“I feel like I’m ready”, said Eisa

“Obviously you have to become fitter and a bit stronger, but I’m capable of working hard and I know that the manager here likes work ethic, so I’m going to do that and I will knuckle down and try to get into the team.”
