Loan Update

8 January 2018

A look at how our players got on away from the club

With a few players returning from their loans last week, only Ryan Sears actually managed to see any game time this weekend.

Disappointingly,  Sears’ Newtown side were enable to make it back to back wins. They were looking to follow up their remarkable 4-2 victory over league leaders TNS with victory over Bangor City but it was Bangor that came out on top in this one, winning 3-1. George Harry’s second-half double and an opener from Gary Taylor-Fletcher cancelled out Neil Mitchell’s headed effort 20 minutes from time. Ryan Sears did have the ball in the net himself at one point, but it was dubiously ruled out for offside. Newtown are now in 9th place in the Welsh Premier League with 21 points from 20 games.

Meanwhile, Stalybridge Celtic’s game against Witton Albion was postponed due to the weather meaning Chris Gallagher wasn’t in action this weekend, although he may play in the Cheshire Senior Cup on Tuesday night against Alsager Town.
