Ryan Sears to remain with Newtown until the end of the season

Shrewsbury Town can confirm that Ryan Sears has extended his loan with Newtown until the end of the season.

The Newtown-born youngster has been a near ever-present for his hometown club this season, making 21 appearances and scoring one goal in the Welsh Premier League.

The defender has been joined at Newtown in recent weeks by fellow Academy graduate Callum Roberts and both players will spend the second-half of the season with the Robins.

Sears signed his first professional contract with Shrewsbury Town last summer after impressing in the club’s Under-18s side.

Ryan will continue to train with Paul Hurst’s squad during the week.
