Gnahoua looks back on scoring in last night's 2-1 win

Shrewsbury Town’s penultimate pre-season fixture ended in good fashion for Town with a win.

Two goals secured a come back for Askey’s men as they beat AFC Telford United 2-1 away at the New Bucks Head.

Arthur was pleased to get more minutes under his belt during a good test for the Town squad.

“It was my first 90 minutes and it’s really helped to get my fitness,” Arthur said. “And to get a goal was really good for me.

“At the start it was tough for us but we managed to get a goal back and that gave us the confidence to get another.

“I enjoy playing on the wing but if the ball is not coming then I prefer going in the middle. I managed to get on the ball a few times to it really helped.

Amongst the goal scorers was Arthur, who curled in a long-range effort, sparking Town’s come back.

“I need to see my goal again, I forgot what it was like but it was alright,” Gnahoua said. “Sometimes I can shoot with my right foot as well so that was really good.

Arthur is also pleased to see that the Town squad starting to adapt to the new management is looking forward to the start of the season. He said: “A lot of our players left but we have managed to keep a good side.

“We train everyday together and it’s really helping then team so I think we can do good this season.

“It’s always good to have good players in your team, it makes you try harder to get onto the team.”

Town will take on Port Vale on Saturday away at Vale Park, in Askey’s final pre-season game before Town’s first League game against Bradford United.
