Colkett excited about new challenge with Town
Shrewsbury Town are pleased to announce Charlie Colkett has joined the Club on a season long loan from Chelsea.
The centre midfielder joins Town with experience after previous loans with Bristol Rovers, Swindon and Vitesse.
Charlie is pleased with the move and looking forward to pulling on a Blue and Amber shirt, he gave his thoughts on joining his new Club.
“I’m very excited and raring to go and literally cant wait to get started,” the 21 year old said.
“There is ups and downs in football and last season didn’t go to plan but like I said I’m raring to go and ready for my up now really glad to be here.”
Charlie also gave an insight into what the fans can expect from the Chelsea centre midfielder.
“They can expect some excitement,” Colkett said. “Hopefully I’ll get them off their feet. I’ll bring a bit of control to the game and definitely bring them some joy.
“I can definitely create goals and I will be dictating the football games for us. I know what to expect, I’m more prepared and ready to go.
“The stadium is great and there was a good turn out for a friendly today and I’m just counting down the days until that first game of the season to get this place rocking.
“I’ve been back quite a while for Pre-Season and I’m working as hard as ever so I’m feeling fit and good.
“I want to keep improving and rack up the games, games are extremely important and I want to show that what I’ve been doing over the years I can implement now in a real game and that’s what I want to do.”
Colkett will be available to Askey during the rest of Pre-Season, starting wth AFC Telford on Wednesday.
