Fey looks back on scoring two goals in the pre-season opener

Fejiri Okenabirhie and the Shrewsbury Town squad opened up the Pre-Season campaign with a comfortable 3-0 win over Kidderminster in Lilleshall.

The new boy managed to notch two goals in his 45 minutes of football, which helped the team onto their victory.

Fejiri was pleased to notch so early on in the campaign ahead of the rest of Pre-Season.

“It’s a good way to start,” the striker said. “It was good to get through the 45 minutes to get the fitness and to get a couple of goals is a bonus.

“I think it was my first touch as well so it was a nice first touch to get a goal and it’s a nice way to start. Hopefully we can just carry it on.

“You have to start as you mean to go on, so to get that winning habit is good and hopefully we can just keep that going for the rest of the games going into the season.”

Fey feels he has settled into life at Shrewsbury well and is hoping he can make an impact in the upcoming season.

“It’s been good,” Fey said. “Training has been tough but I’m getting fitter each week happy now the games have started.

“I’m getting to know the boys better and I’m looking forward to the start of the season now.

“This is a good move for me and I feel like I’m at the right Club and I’m ready to push on and do well.

“I’m just looking forward to the season starting and showing everyone what I can do.”

Town next take on Bristol City away at Ashton Gate as John Askey and his squads Pre-Season campaign continues.
