John Askey looking forward to 'Meet the Management' event
Shrewsbury Town’s Supporters Parliament will be hosting a meet the management event tonight.
John Askey, John Filan and George Pilkington will be in attendance in the Sovereign Suite for a Q&A session open to the fans.
“Every football club is about the supporters,” Askey said. “It’s important that we all have that connection.
“That’s who we’re playing for, players have to realise that they’re playing for the supporters and it’s a privilege.
“It’s a privilege for me to be the manager of Shrewsbury Town and I feel very fortunate, it’s important that the supporters realise that we do appreciate being here and playing for them.
“I’m looking forward to it and it will be nice to see plenty of faces.
“The Football Club is a big part of the community, especially places such as Shrewsbury.
“It’s vitally important that we have that connection and we’re seen in the community and that we’re all in this together.”
Askey is looking forward to taking questions from the fans as he and his management look to forge a relationship with the fans.
“Any questions are thrown at me, all I can do is answer honestly, which I will do,” said the Gaffer.
“I’m sure what ever question it will be is something I haven’t answered before.
“Hopefully it will be a good event and people enjoy it and enjoy coming to meet us all.”
