Jermaine Grandison to build his fitness with the club
Former Shrewsbury Town Defender Jermaine Grandison has returned to the club this week to join in with pre-season training.
A host of injuries have led to the 27-year-old, who played over 150 times for the club, not featuring in professional football since leaving Shrewsbury Town in 2016.
In an attempt to help Jermaine get his career back on track he will train with John Askey’s squad during pre-season and Askey is happy to have him involved.
“He had a serious injury and an operation, and he’s just trying to come back to see how far he can go with it”, said John
“He’s been working hard but working on your own is different to football training. We’ll just see how he goes and how far he can go in getting back, but it’s not really one that we think will come to anything, but you never know.
“He obviously did well here and he’s living local. There’s nothing lost because obviously he’s got quality and if we could get him fit then who knows, but I think it’s more to see whether Jermaine can get back or not.”
