Jordan Beech talks about his appointment as First-Team Physio
Shrewsbury Town's new Physio Jordan Beech is excited about filling the shoes of the departing Chris Skitt.
Skitt will join an unnamed Championship club and will be replaced by Beech who has spent the last 18-months as the Academy’s Head of Medicine.
Jordan believes the opportunity has come at a good time for him and can’t wait to get going.
“I think it’s a really good opportunity for me and I’m delighted to be able to make that step-up into the first team”, said Jordan.
“I’ve been here 18-months now and worked very closely with Skitty. It’s very good progression and a natural progression in my eyes to make that step-up.
“I know the players, I know the staff, I know the processes. I worked very closely with Skitty, so I know what he’s done and I try to replicate that in the Academy, so it’s just a case of making that step-up and carrying on the good work that’s already been done.”
Chris Skitt had been with the club for the last 10 years and Jordan wants to continue many of things he put into place.
“It’s very big shoes to fill, but it fills me with confidence that he recommended me for the role”, admitted Beech.
“It’s a very good department and that’s one of the reasons why I did want to make that step-up when I found out. Everyone knows their roles and we’re all pulling in the same direction to have another successful season.
“I think I just want to keep pushing the department on. It is really well established now with what Skitty’s done and especially with Marc (Lindsey) and Aaron (Lambley) moving that forward. I just want to keep that progression, keep the same high standards and help push the team on.”
