Pre-season approaching fast and gaffer itching to get going
Town manager John Askey is looking forward to the end of June and the start of the pre-season campaign.
Askey feels it is important to have the majority of the squad in place ready for the pre-Season schedule with the dates rapidly approaching.
“It soon comes around, especially with getting to the Play-Off final,” Askey said.
“It comes around quick for players but that’s just how it is now, the players are used to it and I’m sure they’ll be looking forward to the start of the season when it comes.
“I can’t wait to get into training, it’s something completely different for me and it energises you.
Town have Pre-Season games and a training camp abroad which were pencilled in by former manager Paul Hurst, but Askey feels no need to change the plans.
“Everything will carry on, John said.
“There’s no point in me coming in and trying to change something that’s not broke. It’s a case of just trying to keep everything going and seeing how it goes.
“Pre-Season is important, especially for the new players. Everybody gets to know each other and it is an important time and can be vital to the season.”
