Rodders on getting ready for the Wembley Final
Shrewsbury Town Midfielder Alex Rodman is in confident mood ahead of the Sky Bet League One Play-Off Final against Rotherham United.
Town found out who their opponents would be on Wednesday night and now have 10 days to prepare for the Wembley showpiece.
“Bring it on!”, said Rodman.
“I think we finished third for a reason. I am fully confident in us and there’s a reason why we were the only club that ran Wigan and Blackburn close.
“I know Rotherham came in fourth, but we’ve shown that we the strongest out of the bunch in the Play-Offs, and we will look at them, assess them and work out how we can hurt them.
“I’ve got every confidence in us that we can go to Wembley and if we perform like we have performed in the last two games then we will get the result we want.”
This will be the second time that Town have featured at the national stadium this season and Alex believes that the defeat to Lincoln will work in their favour.
“I think that stands us in great stead to be honest”, said Rodman.
“I think it’s almost like a dress rehearsal. We’ve been there, we’ve tasted defeat, we’ve got the cobwebs away, and we can go there knowing fully what to expect.
“There may be a touch bigger crowd, but that won’t make a difference. For a lot of boys it was the first time they had been there, so they were soaking it up, but this time it’s not about going there and enjoying it, it’s about putting in a performance and winning.”
