Forward Morris looks ahead to Wembley Final
The Shrews next challenge is the Sky Bet League One Play-Off Final, where Town will face off with Rotherham United to win promotion to the Championship.
Striker Carlton Morris is hoping to add to the goal that got Town to Wembley and play his part in helping the club on their way to a historic victory.
“We’re excited mostly, you get a bit nervous closer to the time but we will use that to turn it into positive energy for the game”, said Morris.
“I prefer being nervous before a game. It means that hopefully something is bubbling inside and we’re going to do something special on the day but as soon as we cross that white line, all that sort of stuff goes away.
“It wont be the first time we have seen the stadium as a team and it wont be the first time we have played on the pitch as a team. I think everything about that Lincoln day will help us.
“It’s a massive stadium and a big event and hopefully we will be a bit more used to that this time.”
Carlton is expecting a tough game from The Millers but admits finals are strange games to predict.
“I think it is hard to know what to expect from the game, especially with it being a Play-Off Final”, said the striker.
“I’m sure it will start of quite edgy. One team will ease into it more comfortably and hopefully that will be us on the day. Play-Offs are always a lottery, so it will be who ever turns up on the day, hopefully that will be us.
“We have a head strong group of lads so hopefully we it will be us on the day who will settle into the game early. We have been preparing well for it. The Gaffer and Doig have given us the best chance going into it.
“It would be such a disappointment to have such a brilliant season and not achieve anything, especially with this group of lads. It’s the best team I have been involved with, so it would be nice to make some nice memories at the end.”
