Goalkeeper looks ahead to Wembley Final

Goalkeeper Dean Henderson and his team are now deep into preparations for the clubs Play-Off Final against Rotherham United.

Henderson and the Shrewsbury squad feel they have prepared well and are looking forward to the test from The Millers.

“I’m very excited to get out there and hopefully get us over the line”, said Henderson.

“It’s been a long season. The fans have stuck with us and stood by us so hopefully we can do it for the whole town. It would be great to do it in my last game for Shrewsbury at Wembley to lift that trophy.

“There is nothing I want more to end the season in style. I haven’t thought about anything else for the last month or so other than getting over the line and putting this place on the map and giving the club Championship football next season.

“It hurt to watch Lincoln lift the trophy in front of us. This time round we will be better prepared and ready to do the job. We have left no stone un-turned. We’re ready.

“We have worked hard for weeks, getting prepared right. We got through the Charlton games, which were very, very hard games. Now we’re in this position now, it’s just about getting over the line and hopefully everything works on the day and it goes to plan.”

Henderson has been a key figure in the Town squad this season and feels his loan move has been good for himself and the club.

“I love this club from the bottom of my heart”, said the goalkeeper.

“My memories will stay with me for a very, very long time. Forever, in fact. To finish and leave the club in the Championship would be the best feeling I have had in football up to date.

“This is what you want, this is football and these are the times you work so hard for and for me personally it’s my first taste of it. I’m really enjoying it and thriving under the pressure and I cant wait to get out there.

“I’m a passionate lad, I want to do well for my self and the club. I’m delighted with how things have gone this season.

“Everyone including the fans, the chairman, the manager and all of the staff have all shown love towards me and to my family as well. It’s been outstanding so I think I owe this back to them.”
