Media Manager turns 50
Shrewsbury Town would like to congratulate their long-serving Media Manager, Ian Whitfield, on becoming 50 today.
Whitefield created the first Shrewsbury Town website back in the 1990’s and officially joined the club in 2000 as Website Editor, before later becoming the Programme Editor as well.
Over the last 18-years Ian has worked alongside a host of Shrewsbury Town Managers and Players, including Kevin Ratcliffe, Jimmy Quinn, Gary Peters, Paul Simpson, Graham Turner, Mike Jackson, Micky Mellon and Paul Hurst.
Whitfield was recently awarded a Supporters’ Parliament Recognition Award for his services to the club, although he still doesn’t know that we once played in a black kit.
Known for his placid demeanour, Ian has become a well-known face around the club over the years and everyone connected with Shrewsbury Town would like to wish him well today.
We hope that Ian enjoys his big day alongside his wife Becky and children Miles and Poppy.
