Beckles looks ahead to Wembley Final
Shrewsbury Town are hoping to make history and win promotion to the Championship via the Play-Offs this Sunday.
Town will take on Rotherham United at the national stadium and Shrews defender Omar Beckles feels he and his team are ready for the challenge.
“I feel quite peaceful to be honest. The previous trip was a blessing in disguise, going there and losing. The dressing room, how we felt and how we had to recover from that for the next few weeks.
“It was definitely painful but hopefully we can use that pain to be part of the fuel for the fire and hopefully go and put it right.
“If you said at the start of the season we would be going Wembley twice, no one would have imagined it. So to feel the pain from last time makes us want to go there and put it right.”
Omar feels it is important for the club to end the season on a high and achieve the promotion the club has been fighting for all season.
“I think I said it before, we don’t want to be nearly men. We really want to be legends in a sense and make history for this club”, said the defender.
“This could change a lot of our lives so we really want to make that step and get promotion. To get to this level and the season we have had, it would just be good to top it off and give the fans something to really be happy about.
“I feel like we can do it. We are definitely confident but it’s not something we can take lightly and think we are just going to walk over them.
“We’re quietly confident in ourselves that we can go and do a job, we’re looking forward to it. I feel like we are always physically prepared, it’s down to us as individuals to make sure we are mentally in the right space and right frame of mind.“
