Abo Eisa looks back at Town's win over Crewe Alexandra.

Shrewsbury Town took on Crewe Alexandra last evening in the final Checkatrade Trophy group stage game.

Town secured a 2-1 win on the road, which saw Danny Coyne’s men top group D.

Abo Eisa was pleased to have helped his team to a win and was happy to have got on the score sheet.

“I thoroughly enjoyed it,” Eisa said. “It was good to be back on the pitch. My injury was a very long one.

“I was delighted to be back out there and to be scoring as well. I am definitely claiming that one - it’s my goal.

“It was a wingers day today. It was a very good finish from Gilliead. He said he’s trying to improve on that side and he’s doing it.

“I do think we have a lot of strength in depth. We have got a lot of players that are capable of getting into the team.”

Eisa feels this win can help Town push on and get more positive results in weeks to come.

“You always want to go right from the start of the season and be playing games,” the winger said.

“I am ambitious and I wanted us to start well. Hopefully I can continue to score goals and play more.

“I have been itching to play and itching to score goals. I love the feeling of scoring a goal.

“We all have to stay together. We are very united – there is a good group of players here.

“The league games are the games I want to play in. I want to help the team.

“Hopefully I have done enough to get a chance of playing on Saturday.

“It’s a long season and we still have plenty of games to go. We have the players to win games.

“I think if we can build some momentum I really think we can do well and finish strong."
