Anthony Grant pre Salford City

Anthony Grant looks ahead to Town's clash with Salford City.

Shrewsbury Town take on Salford City in the FA Cup first-round replay tomorrow evening.

Town will be looking to go a step further and get the win that would see the team progress into the next round.

Anthony Grant has been pleased with recent results and hopes his team can find a consistency.

“It was a good performance last time out,” Grant said. “We went 2-1 down and the boys showed good courage to get back into the game.

“It was difficult circumstances, but we just wanted to get the win.

“Training has been good. Danny Coyne has come in and taken training and the boys have got right behind him – that’s how it should be.

“The fans have been very good since I came here. Hopefully we are showing what we can do and hopefully we can carry on doing it.”

Town next visit Salford City for the FA Cup first-round replay and the midfielder is expecting a tough test from the home side.

“We know what to expect,” said Grant. “The last game was quite even, but we had chances.

“We know what to expect and we have been working hard, so hopefully we can go out there and win.

“We know more about them and they know more about us. We know what we can do and we should win.

“I have a habit of popping up in the FA Cup with a goal, but I would take a one nil with someone else scoring rather than me.

“The FA Cup is good for the non-league teams. It’s good for them to play league teams.

“If you go far you get to play the Premier League teams, so it should be a good game.

“Everyone is going to try to impress on TV, so we will see what happens.”
