Danny Coyne pre Rochdale

15 November 2018

Danny Coyne looks ahead to Town's fixture with Rochdale.

Shrewsbury Town return to Sky Bet League One action this weekend as Town take on Rochdale.

Town will be looking to make it two wins on the bounce as the Dale visit the Montgomery Waters Meadow.

Danny Coyne was pleased with Town’s performance last time out and hopes to see a similar display on Saturday.

“Given the circumstances and still getting a win - credit to them,” Coyne said. “They took on board what I asked of them to do.

“On the whole they were doing it. Obviously there are things that we haven’t worked on.

“It was a team thrown together with 11 changes from the weekend. Looking at the game and the circumstances leading up to it – it was a great result.

“Fair play to the lads, they worked so hard. The stats have shown us that today. We had a look at that this morning.

“I can’t thank them enough - They were great. They worked really hard and took on board everything.

“The last thing we said to them was go and win the game. It was a nice feeling in the dressing room after we did that.”

Coyne is expecting a tough game from Keith Hill’s side, who currently sit in 16th place in the Sky Bet League One table.

“Rochdale are a hard working and organised League One team,” Coyne said. “They are decent from set-plays.

“They are a couple of places above us in the league and they fight for their manager.

“It’s going to be very tough. They have got a good physical presence, but they can play as well.

“From what we have seen already – they are quite high tempo. We need to be aware of that.

“You go into every game wanting to win. If you don’t win the game you learn from things that you haven’t done so well.

“For me it’s about consistency, the level of performance and the effort. That’s what they expect from us.”
