Danny Coyne pre Scunthorpe United

30 November 2018

Danny Coyne looks ahead to Town's FA Cup clash with Scunthorpe United.

Shrewsbury Town take on Scunthorpe United this weekend in the FA Cup second-round.

Town will be looking to make it back-to-back wins with a victory over the Iron.

Danny Coyne was pleased with his teams performance last time out and hopes to see a repeat come game-day.

“Yeah, I was delighted for the lads,” Coyne said. “They did really well. They were a hard team to break down with the way that they played.

“They were trying to hit us on the counter-attack. They got in a couple of times and probably should have scored.

“We ground out the win. I thought we created a lot of chances and we played quite well with the ball.

“It was very hard trying to break a team down when they use a certain system. You have to try and create openings with movement off the ball.

“The two goals were great. They did really well in the build up. Fey is a goal-scorer and he made a great run across the centre-back.

“Greg’s, cutting in from the position that he did and shooting from distance is what we are after and what we want.”

Danny is looking forward to facing Scunthorpe in the second-round of the FA Cup and feels the Iron will provide a stern test.

“We aren’t sure what to expect yet,” Danny said. “They have had quite a few injuries and suspensions.

“It’s the FA Cup. We don’t know if they are going to change anything or not. We are working on what we need to do.

“We will be aware of certain threats from them and we will try and relay that to the players.

“The FA Cup is a great day, so hopefully we can get as many fans in as possible.

“Stuart McCall’s team are always hard to break down, always a hard working team and he knows what he’s doing – he’s been in the game long enough.”
