Eric Ramsay post Plymouth

27 November 2018

Eric Ramsay looks back at Town's 2-0 win over Plymouth Argyle.

Shrewsbury Town secured all three points with a win against visitors Plymouth Argyle.

Greg Docherty and Fejiri Okenabirhie were the two on hand who gave Town the two goals.

Eric Ramsay was pleased with the result and they way Town responded to the weekend's defeat.

“From start to finish we had control of the game,” Eric said. “We created a number of chances and limited them to just a couple in the first-half.

“We talked before about being better with the ball in comparison to Saturday.

“Particularly in the first-half we dominated possession from start to finish. It was a step in the right direction.

“I thought as soon as we had the first goal – that was it. It settled any doubts and I don’t think we really looked back from that point onwards

“The last goal was a relief. It had a similar feel to the third one at Salford. There is always a chance the opposition can get back into the game.

“We stopped their counter-attacks, we were good from set pieces and we controlled the game.”

Eric was pleased with the contribution of Fejiri Okenabirhie and hopes to see the forward carry on his good form.

“You might as well put his name on the score sheet before the game starts.” Eric said.

“He is clinical and he shows it in training everyday. He is a phenomenal finisher and I am pleased that now he’s got his chance he is showing his quality.

“We are just continuing with the process of making the side that we are going with better and I am sure we are improving on the training ground every day.

“There is a good feel about the place at the moment and it feels like we have some momentum.

“In spite of that on Saturday, we showed today that momentum is still building and the team is still improving.”
