Greg Docherty pre Wycombe Wanderers

23 November 2018

Greg Docherty looks ahead to Town's clash with Wycombe Wanderers.

Shrewsbury Town take on Wycombe Wanderers next time out in Sky Bet League One action.

Town will travel to Adams Park looking to achieve a fourth win in a row.

Greg Docherty was pleased to have sealed a win against Salford and hopes to use that momentum going forward.

“We were just really happy to get over the line,” said Greg. “I felt like we were going to win the game anyway, but when the third goal went in it just really settled everything.

“It was a big result for us. Going there it was Salford this and Salford that. Coyne touched on that before the game, so we had to go and show how good we are and I think we did that.

“I was elated to get a goal, it was brilliant. Scoring at the end where your fans are behind the goal is always a nice feeling.

“You could see the celebrations. Everybody was all part of it and we knew the game was in our hands.”

Greg is expecting a tough test on the road against Wycombe but feels Town have enough to get the win.

“We need to look forward to the next game,” the midfielder said. “That’s the beauty of being down here – there is so many games and you can build on it.

“Momentum is a huge thing in football. It’s three games unbeaten now and we have just got to build on that.

“Wycombe are a strong physical team and they play some good stuff as well.

“They are on a good run themselves at the moment, but we just need to focus on us. They will be wary of us coming down and they will know we will want to impress.

“Danny Coyne has made it clear that if you have the jersey you need to keep it – it’s yours to lose.

“Everyone needs to deliver and we know the job that we have got to do.”
