Luke Waterfall Pre Wimbledon

2 November 2018

Luke Waterfall looks ahead to Town's fixture with AFC Wimbledon.

Shrewsbury Town take on AFC Wimbledon this weekend in Town’s next Sky Bet League One fixture.

Town will be looking to earn all three points on the road as Askey’s men look for a return to winning ways.

Town defender Luke Waterfall was disappointed with the teams performance last time out and hopes to see an improvement.

“We came off such a high on Tuesday against Barnsley and then came crashing back down on Saturday,” Waterfall said.

“It was a performance that we were no where near happy with and not happy with the work rate.

“We didn’t replicate what we did on the Tuesday - what we know we can do.

“We got off to a terrible start, but it’s something we are looking to put right this Saturday.

“We know the work rate has to be there every single game – that’s a given and I’m sure it will be.”

Waterfall is hoping that the team can bounce back and show a reaction next time out at Wimbledon.

“We are going to Wimbledon on Saturday and it’s going to be a tough game,” the defender said.

“Wimbledon are in a similar situation to ourselves. We are going to go there and give it a right good go – that’s all we can do.

“The performances on a whole haven’t been too bad, apart from Saturday, so we are hoping to go there and put a good shift in.

“We know what we can do. We have the ability in the squad to go and win the game.

“Away from home you are looking to be solid. We need to go there and win. We aren’t going there for a draw.

“We need to get three points on the board – we will definitely be going there to do that, without a shadow of doubt.”
