Ryan Sears pre Crewe Alexandra

13 November 2018

Ryan Sears looks ahead to Town's clash with Crewe Alexandra.

Shrewsbury Town take on Crewe Alexandra this evening in the Checkatrade Trophy.

Town will be looking to go a step further from the weekend and take the win at Gresty Road.

Defender Ryan Sears is looking forward to the tie and feels motivated having been involved with the first-team this season.

“I thoroughly enjoyed it at Telford,” Sears said. “I played every game and that was the most important thing for me.

“I have settled down here since last year and playing games has been really good. It has been good so far.

“Making my league debut was amazing. Young lads dream of playing for the club they have grown up at, so it was really good to play a full 90 minutes for the first-team.

“As a young lad I am just happy to be involved with the squad.”

Sears is looking forward to the tie with Crewe and feels confident his side can get a win.

“The most important thing about tomorrow is winning, definitely,” Sears said. “To come away with a win would be really pleasing.

“We are expecting a battle. They will be aggressive. We will go out and press and I think they will just try to play.

“It will be a battle really - more than anything.

“Any game is always competition, so a win is the most important thing.”
