Academy Attendance Increase

9 October 2018

Shrewsbury Town Academy Manager Eric Ramsay has reported that there has been an increase in attendances for Academy home games

Academy Manager Eric Ramsay told Shrewsweb that he is delighted to see an increase in attendances for his Youth games in comparison with last previous seasons.

“I think our home attendances are really good in comparison to the ones we find ourselves playing against when we go away.

“I know the Academy is something lots of the supporters are proud of.

I think it’s fantastic that the club are really pushing the youth team games a little harder this year and I think it’s a really nice day for a supporter to come out and watch the youth team play at home in the morning, we’ve got a really nice ground at the Sports Village, then shoot off to the first team game in the afternoon.

“It’s been great so far and if that can continue then it will be fantastic.”

Ramsay also believes a larger attendance also has a huge impact on the players.

“It’s really nice for the players to know that the supporters are interested in what they do and what the results are, who’s shining and who might be the next player to break into the first team.”

“I think if they didn’t have that interest their levels and motivation would certainly be less in my opinion.”

The Academy are at home this Saturday against Blackpool. Kick Off is 11am. Admission is free.
