Shrewsbury Town’s under-18’s take on Lincoln City tonight in the FA Youth Cup.

The Town boss, John Askey, will be in attendance, as Eric Ramsey’s side will be looking to progress through to the next round.

The Town boss feels the competition is important for the young team and believes it will help their development.

“The FA Youth Cup is important for the football club,” Askey said. “If the young lads can do well in the competition – then it bodes well for the future of the club.

“We have already had one or two lads come through and one or two are showing promise.

“Hopefully they can put on a good performance and progress through to the next round.

“The good thing about the FA Youth Cup is that it’s special. It’s special when you’re that age.

“Most of the lads are from around this area, so you get that good atmosphere amongst the players.

“If you can get a result and progress then it’s great and something they will always remember.”

Admission costs £3 for adults and £1 for children and admission will be via the cash turnstiles in block 6 and 7.
