Lenell John-Lewis Pre Tranmere Rovers

Lenell John-Lewis looks ahead to Tranmere Rovers.

Shrewsbury Town take on Tranmere Rovers in the Checkatrade Trophy tomorrow evening.

Town will welcome the visitors to the Montgomery Waters Meadow with the aim of getting back-to-back wins.

Lenell John-Lewis feels the team played well last time out and hopes to carry that form on in the cup fixture.

“It was a great win,” John-Lewis said. “It was very important to get the result in the bag.

“With them going down to 10 men, it made it more important for us to get the win. Hopefully we can just kick on now.

“I think we can do a lot better and there is more in the tank. I think we have just got to iron out a few little bits.

“With a couple of wins on the bounce we will be able to climb the table and hopefully the confidence will come from that.

“We have been playing good football, just unfortunate not to get the results.”

John-Lewis is expecting a tough game from the visitors but hopes his team can do well in the competition.

“I think it’s always about us,” John-Lewis said. “No matter what game we go into we have got to play our football.

“We know how far we can go in the cup and know what it can bring to the club, so hopefully we can get the win and go from there.

“Every game is important, regardless of league or cup. Wins are massive and it will bring confidence into the group.”
