Archie Elmore reflects on their 1-1 draw against Walsall FC in the Youth Alliance Cup.
Shrewsbury Town forward Archie Elmore was back in the starting line-up for the first time since their last Cup game against Lincoln City. Elmore scored the equaliser in the match that ensured they came away with a point and to keep their Cup dreams alive.
“It felt good to be back in the starting line-up and it was also good to get on the scoresheet as well.”
Asked on whether they could have gone on to get the win and the all-important three points, he said: “Yeah, we were unlucky not to get the winner. We lost a man and couldn’t bring anyone on so it was hard.”
Archie was also able to reflect on his own performance.
“I thought I played well, I held the ball up well and I got a goal.”
He expressed his hopes of starting the next League game against Morecambe on Saturday.
“Hopefully yeah.”
