New signing Josh Emmanuel reacts to signing on a season-long loan deal
New Shrewsbury Town signing Josh Emmanuel is pleased to have secured his loan move to the Shrews. He gave his thoughts to Shrewsweb.
Josh joins Askey's squad from Paul Hurst’s Sky Bet Championship Ipswich Town.
Josh is pleased to have secured the move to Town and is looking forward to getting started - after a positive season with Rotherham United.
“I’m delighted and excited for the challenge ahead,” Emmanuel told Shrewsweb.
“First and foremost, I’m here to help the team and improve myself and I’m excited to do that.
“Last season I enjoyed my time at Rotherham, but I’m here to obviously help the team and help us win games.
“It was a good season - last season, but I’m here and focusing on what’s ahead.”
Emmanuel also gave an insight into what the fans should expect from Town’s latest signing.
“I’m a right-back, I like to attack and be positive on the ball. I’m still kind of young, so I’m still learning my trade. Hopefully, I’ll gain experience here.
“Every game and every training session is an opportunity to learn and improve. I’m excited to see what’s ahead.
“As I saw last season – Shrewsbury were in top form in League One, so hopefully we can do that again.”
Josh will link up with the Town squad immediately and will be available for Town’s away fixture against Portsmouth.
