Josh Emmanuel Pre Southend

14 September 2018

Josh Emmanuel looks ahead to Town's fixture against Southend.

Shrewsbury Town welcome Southend United to the Montgomery Waters Meadow this weekend.

Joshua Emmanuel and his teammates are hoping to turn their performances in points against the Shrimpers.

Emmanuel was pleased to make his debut in the previous fixture and hopes to help the team further into the season.

“It was good,” Josh said. “I felt a bit rusty, but I enjoyed playing with the lads and we should have won to be honest, but it was a good game.

“Everyone has been great. They have all taken care of me, even the chef, Dave, has taken care of me - I appreciate it.

“Even though we haven’t won we are all positive. As long as we keep doing what we need to do – the win will come; we are excited for the future.

“I have come here to gain experience and ultimately help the team. I’m looking forward to Saturday and hopefully we get that first win.”

Emmanuel is looking forward to the weekend’s fixture and expects a tough game from the visitors.

“It will be a difficult challenge, obviously,” Josh said. “As long as we do what we need to do, I’m sure we will get that win.

“I felt a little bit rusty on Saturday, but hopefully the gaffer picks me again. I am thankful for his trust in me at Portsmouth last week, so hopefully I continue to perform.

“We always go into every game looking for the win, so that is what we will try and do.”
