Loan Update

3 September 2018

Take a look at how our players are getting on away from the club.

John McAtee had a very impressive game despite Ashton United losing 2-1 to his former club Telford where he spent half of last season on loan. McAtee broke the deadlock scoring his first goal for Ashton in the 38th minute. Ashton United are now sitting 17th in the National League North with one win in eight games.

Bryn Morris helped Wycombe secure a 1-1 draw against Luton on Saturday. Morris was shown a yellow card in the 26th minute after bringing down Pelly Ruddock as Luton looked to counter following sustained pressure around the Hatter’s penalty area. Wycombe had the chance to double their lead in the second half after they were awarded a penalty. Jacobson was denied by Shea and the momentum shifted resulting in Luton scoring eight minutes later.

Luke Hendrie started for Grimsby Town in their game against Yeovil Town at home. Hendrie and his defensive line looked to be heading for a clean sheet up until the 78th minute after some great work from Patrick who created some space, opened himself up and took a low curling shot beyond McKeown into the far corner of the net. The game finished 1-0. That result was Grimsby’s third loss of the season.

Sam Jones started for Cheltenham Town as they lost 3-1 at home to Colchester United. Cheltenham sit 21st in the table with four points from six games.
