Ollie Norburn Post Gillingham

30 September 2018

Ollie Norburn looks back at Town's draw with the Gills.

Shrewsbury Town narrowly missed out on taking all three points away from Town’s home fixture with the Gills yesterday.

Steve Lovell’s side struck a late equaliser shortly after Town had taken the lead through Ollie Norburn in the 88th minute.

Norburn was frustrated to not come away with the three points, after taking the lead so late on.

“It’s very frustrating,” the midfielder said. “It’s not just me who’s frustrated – it’s the team in there as well to be fair.

“It hurts. It’s not what we want - we thought we had won the game with five minutes to go, we need to see the game out. We have got to be tougher, got to be more aggressive.

“We did well to get back into the game, but we just needed to grind it out and come away with that three points.

“It’s frustrating – very frustrating. We started flat today, but like I said we got ourselves back into the game. We showed great determination to get in front and then we let ourselves down with five minutes to go.”

Despite earning a point, Norburn feels frustrated his side didn’t get the win and feels the team need to do better.

“We have been here a few times this season saying this,” Norburn said post match. “It’s us, it’s down to the lads, it’s down to the players and we’ve got to get results.

“It’s frustrating with five minutes to go. We thought we had won the game, thinking we will see this out and get three points but then that happens.

“It is down to us. We need to be tougher and more aggressive.

“We have got the game Tuesday night now and we have got to put it right.”

Town’s next fixture is an away trip to face Walsall on Tuesday evening.
