STITC are delighted to announce our cycling challenge event will return in 2019 as members of Shrewsbury Town in the Community will Bike2Barnsley in partnership with Trek Bikes Shrewsbury.
After the success of our Pedal2Pool event last year which raised over £2,000, we will now take on the 120-mile bike ride from Shrewsbury Town Football Club, with participants cycling over the picturesque Peak District to Barnsley for the penultimate away game of the season.
Whether you are an experienced cyclist looking to put some mileage in or a complete beginner ready for your first multi-day cycling challenge, you are sure to make friends and enjoy an incredible adventure.
The event is a 2 day, 1 night trip.
Day 1 (18th April 2019) will consist of a 70 mile journey from The Montgomery Waters Meadow, the home of Shrewsbury Town Football Club to Buxton.
Day 2 (19th April 2019) will see cyclists travel the remaining 50 miles through the beautiful Peak District to Barnsley FC’s stadium, Oakwell, in time to enjoy the fixture.
To join this exciting event it is a £100 registration fee with a minimum sponsorship of £100.
This will include a hard earned dinner and overnight stay in Buxton, breakfast before we set off on morning two, water, refreshments, mechanics and medical support throughout the ride, a ticket to the fixture and return travel from Barnsley. – sign up using the form below.
We will also be teaming up with Rybrook Mini who will be providing Minis for the event as support vehicles.
