James Bolton Pre Gillingham

12 April 2019

James Bolton previews Town's trip to Gillingham's Priestfield Stadium.

Shrewsbury Town are back on the road again this weekend as the Shrews take on Gillingham.

Town have a chance to go three games unbeaten with a win against the Gills and an opportunity to reach the 50-point mark.

James Bolton has been pleased with his side’s recent form and hopes to see a continuation in the remaining games.

“It was a bit of a scrappy game last time out,” said the defender. “We did play well in parts. We just needed to take our chances.

“On reflection, we created the most chances in the last game. Keeping those points coming in is massive.

“It is so tight and it only takes a team to lose two games and they’re right back in it.

“We know we will have to fight right until the very, very end. We have got to be on it and pick up points wherever we can.”

James is expecting a tough test from the Gills but feels his team have enough to leave Priestfield Stadium with all three points.

“They will be a good side and hard to beat, especially being at home,” said James. “It’s a tough place to go.

“They tend to use long-ball tactics. They know their strengths and they’re good at it.

“But we went to Southend and thought that would be really tough, but we managed to get the three points.

“It can be done, so hopefully we can go there and do the same. It shows we can match anybody.

“Hopefully we can pick up the three points to push us further up the table.”
