Season Ticket Sales Pass The 3,000 Mark

15 April 2019

The Early Bird season ticket sales have now ended and the club are delighted that sales have passed the 3,000 mark.

Sales are pretty much level as the same time last year and it has been a superb take up from Shrewsbury Town supporters who want to Paint The Town Blue And Amber.

Town CEO Brian Caldwell is delighted with the number of season tickets that have been sold so far.

“We are delighted with the take up on the Early Bird season tickets and are thankful to the supporters who have once again backed the club for next season”, said Brian.

“We always try and make the Early Bird prices attractive and it’s great to see more or less the same number of sales as the same point last year.

“If you think of the season we had last year the recent results and performances has given people hope that we can kick on again next season again.

“If you also look at the support we get at home the averages are over 6,000 and that is fantastic, when I came here 3 years ago I spoke about the potential of increasing the numbers who watch the club and we have done.

“We have to keep doing that work whether it be the work with Community or the various ticket offers and initiatives to help get people along to the Montgomery Waters Meadow.”

The club are still looking through the sales data but early stats shows that sales made up of around 90% renewals and 10% of new season ticket holders.

With season ticket prices frozen and the same attractive prices for younger supports Brian is happy with the split.

“I think it is great that people do renew in those numbers but it’s also nice to see good numbers of new season ticket holders”, said Brian.

“It’s always good to get new supporters so maybe some of the new initiatives and youth group offers have attracted people along and then into season ticket holders.

“I know a number who come along on the youth group offers, then the family have come to subsequent games and then turned into season ticket holders.

“Safe standing has improved the atmosphere at games and one thing I always believe in is that we always remember the atmosphere more than the games sometimes.”

Season ticket prices now go onto the second Early Bird offer, which still gives great savings as well as guaranteeing your seat for all games at the Montgomery Waters Meadow.

It runs up towards the end of June and allows supporters to see next season’s fixtures to see if a season ticket is right for them.

“There are always some people who will wait until the fixtures come out to see what games they can attend”, said Brian.

“Once the fixtures are out then people can look to see if the season ticket is for them and with the way we structure the pricing it still represents great value over the whole season.”

Season Ticket Prices 2019/20 Season - are still available at the second Early Bird rate, which is still a big saving on the normal match prices.
