Tyrese Campbell Post Gillingham

14 April 2019

Tyrese Campbell reflects on Town's 0-2 win over Gillingham.

Shrewsbury Town managed to secure another three points on the road yesterday afternoon with a win over Gillingham.

Tyrese Campbell and James Bolton were the pair on hand to notch the goals for the Shrews in the second-half.

Tyrese was pleased with the goal and was happy to have contributed to the away win.

“We said at half-time that we were all over them,” said Tyrese. “They didn’t create many chances.

“It was just a matter of time until we got the goal and both of them came in quick succession.

“We are happy. We kept a clean sheet and everyone put in a good performance, which has pushed us up the table.

“I had a couple of chances earlier on and probably should have done better with them.

“We didn’t look under threat at any point really. We just played our game and had to do what we do.

“I am happy I scored again. I hadn’t scored for a while, so it’s nice to have another one on the tally.”

Tyrese is pleased Town were able to climb the table and hopes to see more wins in the remaining fixtures.

“We have more than enough to stay up,” said the forward. “We are on a good run now.

“The team are strong and everyone has a bit of confidence. I think we will do well and win games. Everyone relishes the games and wants to do well. No one wants to lose.

“We will continue to get together in training and work hard – giving all that we can on the pitch.

“It will be a good game against Barnsley. They are up there in the table but we will be doing our best to get a win.

“It’s great for a young player like me to come into a situation like this. You have to give your all - every game is a battle.”
