Charlie Catton Post Accrington Stanley

19 August 2019

CHARLIE Catton is hoping that his substitute brace is enough to give his manager a selection headache.

The young striker bagged his double from the bench in the Shrews impressive 3-0 win over Accrington Stanley on Saturday.

He admitted that he was disappointed not to be starting but shows outstanding attitude towards the decision of his manager, he said; “I can’t moan too much, when you get your chance you’ve got to take it”.

Catton certainly took his chances scoring two excellent headers a part of his game that he feels is important. He said; “I think I’m good in the air I thrive off long balls, the lads served me well”.

It certainly was a team performance as Catton alludes to, he said; “The lads worked hard all over it’s a great result and we worked hard for it”.

After his impressive display, the striker is looking forward to next weekend and hopes that his performance and work over the week will put him in contention for next Saturday’s game against Tranmere.

“Hopefully he (David Longwell) has go a few decisions to make now, hopefully, I’ve made him think what his next staring eleven could be”, he said.

Longwell certainly has some decisions to make with all four of the substitutes impressing. You can see how the team line up when they play Tranmere at the Shrewsbury Sports Village, 11 am, Saturday 24th
