Pierre Called Up For Grenada

7 August 2019

Aaron Pierre has been called up for the Grenada squad for their forthcoming Concacaf Nations League games.

Aaron first played for Grenada back in 2015 and has so far made five appearances for the Spice Boys.

The Concacaf Nations League qualifiers run between September and November with games against St. Kitts & Nevis, Belize and Guiana.

Aaron joins up for the first games at the end of August when Grenada plays Belize and will miss our games with Ipswich Town (A) and Peterborough United (H).

There are then games scheduled for October against French Guiana when we play Bury (H), and finally in November when Guiana play St. Kitts & Nevis when we play Doncaster (A).

Town manager is pleased for Aaron to get the call-up and it was something that was always in the back of his mind would happen.

"Aaron is a big player for them and he is very proud to play for Grenada", said Sam.

"Unfortunately we will be missing him for those games but it is something we were aware of.

"Aaron was our number one pick to come into that spot so it was something that we had to accept would possibly happen.

"We have really good players who find themselves out of the team at the moment and who can come into the starting line-up."
