Town started their Sky Bet League One season off on Saturday with a game at home to Portsmouth.
There were reports of some fans not being able to gain entry to the stadium being turned away due to problems with season tickets and fan cards.
We apologies to anyone who experienced difficulties on Saturday but be assured that we are always looking at issues faced to ensure we can identify problems and make sure they don’t happen again.
Shrewsbury Town Ticket Office Manager Martin Gaunt has looked back at the reports for the game to see what problems caused the delays.
There were 123 accountable rejects (Not duplicate scans, mis-scans etc.)
Of these 123:-
20 went to the Wrong Gate
14 were classed as 'Not Entered Yet'. - This is a scanner user error – the club will look further into this.
14 were classed as 'Already Used'. - This can be a multitude of things but is mainly going to be tickets scanned twice by accident, tickets gaining re-entry that weren't scanned out if they left the stadium for any reason, or tickets that have been scanned in then may have been given to someone else for entry.
75 were classed as 'Event Unknown'. Basically, the game wasn't on the SEASON card that was used to attempt to gain entry.

Of the 75:-
9 were Fancard’s. (4 had Physical Tickets, 4 did not have a ticket for the game against the supporter number associated with the Fancard, and 1 was a Print @ home ticket.
37 used an old Season Ticket to gain entry when they had a new one issued for this season.
17 used a Season Ticket more than a year old when 2019/20 season had been added to their 2018/19 Season card.
11 Season Tickets were re-issued on the day after not working at the turnstile. We have sent info to Ticketmaster to investigate further as to whether it was a system or a scanner issue.
1 supporter did not have a Season Ticket for the 2019/20 season and used an old season card to gain entry.
As a footnote, we still have 25 Season Tickets that remain uncollected from the Ticket Office so will be contacting those cardholders before the next home game.
