Best Of The Decade

30 December 2019

With the end of 2019 fast approaching, it is time to look back at the decade and get our supporters thoughts.

The decade has seen Town established as a solid Sky Bet League One side, there have been memorable cup games against the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Man United, Stoke City, Wolves, West Ham and many more.  There have also been four trips to Wembley, which has been an excellent achievement for the club, hopefully, one day we will get the right result there!

The club has teamed up with the Supporters Parliament, Salopcast and Blue and Amber Fanzine to get our supporters "Best Of The Decade".

We want to hear from as many fans as possible so we can get the everyone's votes in to create this decades fans favourites.

Over the next weeks will be running votes to find the favourite player, favourite team, match, manager, goal and a few more.

Voting will be through the ShrewsHub app, making it easy for everyone to cast their votes.

Town CEO Brian Caldwell is looking forward to seeing the results of the supporters Best Of The Decade.

"This decade has been one of achievement and growth for the club both on and off the pitch", said Brian.

"There have been many memorable games, players and goals over the last ten years, ones that stick in the supporter's memories.

"On the pitch, the club has established itself in League One, while off it we have seen the transformation of the training ground, massive growth in Shrewsbury Town in the Community, as well as the matchday experience at the Montgomery Waters Meadow.

"I have always championed building a close working relationship with the supporters, and it is good to see everyone coming together to push this vote.”

Glyn Price of Salopcast/Blue And Amber Fanzine is pleased that the club and the SP are working together to get the best results.

“It’s great the club are working with fans groups and fan media in an effort to get a definitive fans eye view on the last 10 years of Shrewsbury Town”, said Glyn.

“It’s been a rollercoaster of a decade with promotion, relegation, Wembley and memorable FA Cup results along with much, much more!

“Like every fan I’m looking forward to seeing the results and acknowledging the best and worst of this club but content that the 10 years have been kind to us and it’s been a decade which has seen our standing within the wider football community much increase significantly”

To vote on the app go to the Voting section, if you don’t have the app yet you can download it at Download Shrews Hub today from Apple App Store and Google Play.
