Best Seats in the House Debut

Best Seats in the House Bound to be a success!

Shrewsbury Town Football Club were delighted to welcome Cecil Bound and his granddaughter, Mollie Croxon, to be the first people to use our Best Seats in the House at the Coventry City game on Saturday!

Sponsored by Shrewsbury-based Reach Digital Telecoms, Town have installed two Cobra heated seats with two USB ports and drinks holders situated on the half-way line behind our Sovereign seats.

Celebrating his 90th birthday, season ticket holder Cecil Bound was invited to be the first user of our new seats. As well as sitting in the Best Seats in the House, Cecil was provided with complimentary food and drink, a match-day programme and STFC blankets to keep warm – we even managed to ensure they witnessed a Town win!

Mollie and her grandfather enjoyed their day out on Town and both were delighted with the hospitality the club were able to provide during the course of match-day. Speaking to ShrewsWeb, Mollie said: “Honestly, the seats have been amazing. The club couldn’t have done any more for us, everyone constantly ensured we were okay.

“I would definitely recommend people to nominate their loved ones to sit in the seats – it’s really special. We are season ticket holders too, so it was nice to see the game from a different perspective. They are very, very warm and really comfortable as well.

“I just want to thank you again for a wonderful day on Saturday, it was fantastic! Granddad had a wonderful day and he said the hospitality was out of this world. I also wanted to thank you for giving me the opportunity to have a once in a lifetime experience with my granddad as I cherish every moment and memory we have together.”

Town fans can nominate anyone each game who they think deserves that extra special treat at the Montgomery Waters Meadow. All nominations will be done through the ShrewsHub app. “We will run them on a nomination basis on the ShrewsHub app,” said Town’s CEO Brian Caldwell.

“Town fans can nominate anyone they know for this – whether that is people who have gone through a hard time recently or for whatever reason.

“We are open to anything, it could be someone’s big birthday or any special occasion. I’ve not heard of any other clubs who are doing it. It was actually Cobra Seating who came to us with the concept.

“We all thought it would be a great idea, especially with Shrewsbury Town being so active in the local area. It is important that we try to encourage people to come along and give them a chance of a day out on us.

“Our thanks go to Reach Digital Telecoms and Cobra Seating for helping us to make this happen.”
