Marcus Braddock looks ahead to the weekend's game with Coventry City

This weekend we welcome the players, staff and fans of Coventry City for our first game of the Christmas period. So far it's been a good season for Sky Blues fans with just two defeats in Skybet League. It's put them in 6th position, which is handy for mounting a challenge on the top five as 2020 looms in to view. Their recent form seems to have dropped off a little recently with just one win in their last five league games, but it's the number of draws that Coventry have had that draws the eye. They've drawn all but one of their away games and also three at home, just over half of their games in League One. This also means that Coventry have yet to win an away game so far this season, the only team in the division yet to do so. Their goal difference is the lowest in the top ten although they share that honour with Bristol Rovers who have equalled their +3 goals.

Goalscorers (cup goals in brackets)
Amadou Bakayoko 3 (1)
Matt Godden 3 (1)
Zain Westbrook 3 (0)
Maxime Biamou 2(4)
Jordy Hiwula 2(2)
Callum O'Hare 2(2)

Assists
Jordan Shipley 3
Liam Kelly 2
Fankaty Dabo 2
Jordi Hiwula-Mayifuila 2

Clean Sheets
Three at home and three away.

The Manager
Mark Robins, 149 games in charge, 63 won and 49 lost with 37 draws. Robins also managed Coventry in 2012/3 for 33 games, winning 17, losing ten and drawing the rest.

Referee
Tom Nield from Yorkshire. Games this season: 15. Yellow Cards:40. Red cards: 2.

Squad News
Shaun Whalley may be available, Lewis Thompson may not be ready yet.

Summary
We'd all like a win or two this Christmas but can we be only the second team in the division to beat Coventry away from home? Their record speaks for itself, and it's going to be hard work to get anything, especially at home. If we can play as well as we have been recently and maybe add a goal or two, I think we can start Christmas with an early present this weekend.
COYB!!!
Marcus
