Sam Ricketts Pre Bolton Wanderers

Sam Ricketts previews Town's away tie with Bolton Wanderers.

Shrewsbury Town face a quick turn-around this weekend as Sam Ricketts’ side take on Bolton Wanderers this Sunday.

Town will be looking for a return to winning ways at the University of Bolton Stadium following on from a defeat last time out against Rotherham United.

Sam and his team are pleased with the swift opportunity to grasp another three points and hope to put on a good performance against the Wanderers.

“We aren’t the finished article by any means. We will learn the lesson from this whilst we get ready for Bolton,” said Ricketts. “It hurts getting beat, so now we move on and get ready for Bolton.

“It will be a good game at a good ground. It’s a fixture that we will make sure we are ready for in a couple of days. They’ve had big troubles off the pitch with a couple of owners. It now looks like the owner situation has been sorted out and the club are going in the right direction.

“Every game is a good opportunity for us to get something out of it. It will be no different in this fixture, it won't be easy. They’ve got some good players and are still trying to do something this year.”

Sam is expecting another tough test from the home side but feels his team have enough to trouble his former club.

“They have a lot of new players in and are starting to do well,” said Sam. “They will be full of confidence and they’ve had some good results recently. They are a side who are coming together and are vastly different from the start of the year.

“They have Murphy up top, Bridcutt and others – we are talking about some very, very good players. Don’t be fooled by where they are in the league. It will be a good challenge for us.

“We can get results against anyone, home or away. We have proved that all season long and we have to try to get ready for another result. Picking up points on the road is always nice.

“I think you can see the strides that the team have made over the season, we have become more consistent and have picked up a good points tally.”
