11am kick-off at the Sports Village for the U18s game
Shrewsbury’s U18’s are back in Youth Alliance League action on Saturday where they will be facing Walsall FC in a local derby.
Town’s last game was at the end of January which saw them lose 5-0 to league leaders Wigan Athletic. Their opponents come into this tie off the back off a 2-1 win away at Bury last Saturday.
This will be the third match played between both sides, with Shrewsbury yet to beat their local rivals so far this season. The first match was played way back in September in the Youth Alliance Cup, which finished in a 1-1 draw. Town narrowly lost 1-0 away at Walsall at the start of January, so they will be looking to take all three points on Saturday.
Saturday’s match will also see new manager David Longwell take charge of the U18’s for the first time after being announced as academy manager last week.
So, if you’re not making the trip to Peterborough to watch the first team, why not come down to the Shrewsbury Sports Village at 11am and enjoy some U18 action for free.
