Dave Edwards and Stuart Dunn marked a memorable night as they officially opened the Community Football Hub this evening
Shrewsbury Town In The Community officially launched the Community Football Hub this evening.
The event that was held in Smithy’s Bar and hosted by BBC Radio Shropshire's Shrewsbury Town commentator Stuart Dunn who delved deep into Dave Edwards illustrious playing career, was deemed a great success by all who were in attendance, including Head Of Community Jamie Edwards.
“It’s taken me back a bit,” said Jamie. I’m so happy with how it’s gone. The support has been fantastic.
“I didn’t realise before we put the night together how much of a humble person Dave Edwards is, which I think has made it a phenomenal night.
“People have been gripped by what’s been talked about, Stuart Dunn has been phenomenal. He’s been a fantastic host.
“This night has just shown the potential of what this bar can do for fans going forward and what it can do for the club.”
Chris Smith’s family were also in attendance and listened to a tribute from Chris Wynne who began the night’s proceedings.
There was also a shirt raffle, which sold out 20 minutes into the night. Some lucky fans got their hands on some signed shirts from players of the past.
The club hopes that this can be the first of many successful occasions at the Community Football Hub.
